How to Integrate SureCart with SureMembers

You can connect SureCart and SureMembers to automatically give buyers access to protected content when they purchase a product. This setup is great for selling digital products, courses, subscriptions, or memberships with no manual steps required.

What is SureCart?

SureCart is an eCommerce and checkout plugin for WordPress. You can use it to:

  • Sell one-time digital products or downloads
  • Offer recurring subscriptions
  • Manage memberships, course sales, and gated content
  • Automate emails, licenses, and lead capture

SureCart works with other tools like LearnDash, Bunny.net, and SureMembers, and lets you customize pricing, product types, and purchase flows.

How to Connect SureCart with SureMembers

1. Create Your Access Group

Before setting up the integration, make sure you’ve already created an access group in SureMembers.
Follow this guide: How to Create Access Groups

2. Create a Product in SureCart

Set up your product as usual inside SureCart → Products → Add New.

You can add a name, description, price, and download files (if needed).

3. Add the SureMembers Integration

While editing your product in SureCart:

  • Go to the Integrations tab
  • Click “Add Integration”
  • Select SureMembers
  • Choose the Access Group that buyers should be added to

Now, when someone purchases the product, they’ll automatically be added to that access group and gain access to the protected content. At the same time, when the purchase is revoked or the subscription is expired in SureCart, their access will also be revoked on the Access Group and its associated content.

Optional: User Role Sync

By default, all buyers are assigned the SureCart user role. But you can take it further by:

  • Creating custom roles in SureMembers → Settings → Create User Role
  • Syncing those roles to specific access groups
  • Using roles with other plugins or conditional display settings

This gives you more control over how users interact with other parts of your site.

Optional: Customize SureMembers Email Templates

SureMembers can send automatic emails when users are added to an access group. Go to SureMembers → Settings → Email to customize:

  • From Name – e.g. “Your Site Name” or “Membership Team”
  • From Email – the email address used to send notifications
  • Password Reset Email – sent when users need to set their login password
  • New User Onboarding Email – sent to brand new users added to the site
  • Access Granted Email – sent when a user is added to an access group

You can include login links, welcome messages, and instructions for accessing restricted content.

You’re All Set

Once your product is connected to an access group, SureMembers will handle everything: content access, email notifications, and optional role assignments automatically.

If you need to change access rules later, you can update the group in SureMembers or the product in SureCart.
